Kei Nishikori will be playing for nothing less than an Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro next month.
“I’ll aim for gold and do whatever I can to win it,” Nishikori said on Tuesday at a press event for one of his sponsors.
Nishikori retired in the round of 16 at Wimbledon with an abdominal injury, but said he is improving and is scheduled to play at the Rogers Cup in Toronto from July 25.
