Noriaki Kasai finished seventh and Taku Takeuchi followed in eighth in a ski jumping World Cup competition on Sunday.

Kasai, who is among the top 10 in the overall standings and thus exempt from the preliminary round, earned 294.3 points with both jumps that hit the 136-meter mark on the 140-meter hill.

“I missed the timing on my first jump, but the second jump was a good one. On a strong tailwind day, 136 meters is not bad. I look forward to my next chance,” said the 43-year-old Kasai.
